DEATH'S WAITING ROOM is a confronting hybrid of drama, musical theatre and circus, grounded
in and inspired by the works of the Marquis de Sade and The Bible. It is a study of love, family, gender, insecurity and sexual depravity.
Beneath a 'big-top' the Ring Master presides over his godless troop: Marie Antoinette, the drag queen suffers from penis envy and laments her position in life through song; Strawberry, the bitter, gothic mermaid, dreams of having legs, a vagina and a decent role in the show; Arial, contortionist and madam, runs a brothel from her caravan of acrobatic and enthusiastic whores; Fat Clown and Skinny Clown duke it out using words, women and stilts.
'When it comes down to it though they're not that strange after all, just a mermaid, a ballerina or a lonely man - simple, fairly normal and possibly beautiful.' Revolver, Feb 25 2002.
DEATH'S WAITING ROOM enjoyed sell out seasons in Sydney in 2002 and 2005. Director and co-creator, Danielle Harvey believes the show's popularity lies in its broad appeal. "It has so many layers: the content, the music, the complexity of the characters - it pulls you in on so many levels. It's unapologetically dark, yet hilarious at the same time; it takes you somewhere, it gets under your skin."

It is the year 16022 and in the bureaucratically run facility of The Great Library of Earth the ever-present boredom has driven the librarians to their wits' end. No dewy decimal system can save them from themselves.
The Great Library of Earth is a records management facility, dedicated to the documentation of everything that has occurred or been created since the dawn of civilisation. It takes one month’s cryo-sleep to get there and each employment term is ten years. Ten long years… It’s enough to drive a person mad!
As the staff come to grips with the relevance and value of history, the answers they uncover push them to their librarian limits with disastrous consequences. A black comedy with heart was performed at Newtown Theatre in 2007.
